Laureen Fromberg

In September of 2019, in a routine checkup, a blood test revealed that Laureen was anemic. A few more tests later, she received the devastating news that she had stage IV colon cancer that had already metastasized to her liver. At 69, a widow, Laureen being a devoted mother of three children and a principal of an elementary school for over ten years, made the decision to fight and take cancer head-on. She did twenty-seven rounds of heavy chemotherapy, five rounds of cyber-knife, and multiple rounds of radiation. Unfortunately, the cancer metastasized to her adrenal glands, pelvic bone, spine and eventually to the brain. Our mother was the strongest person we ever met. She took everything on with a smile on her face, with determination to make our lives happier and better. She spent over fifty years in education and taught us to never give up!!! Laureen was a fighter to the end; she never gave up!! Sadly, she lost her battle on September 19, 2022, almost three years to the date of her diagnosis.
